As a Council member of the Law Society of South Africa served as chairperson of the Gender Equality Standing Committee. Instrumental in the first women lawyers’ conference in South Africa under the auspices “Women & the Law”.
2000 :Represented the Law Society of South Africa at an International Women Lawyers Conference in London.
1998 – 2001 :Member of the Legal Aid Board under the chairmanship of Judge Navsa.
